New York is celebrating its 400th anniversary in 2024. James has meticulously recreated the Lower Manhattan skyline using a 1963 Olympia SG3 typewriter. This artwork is the largest available print on the gallery shop.
The artwork measures 118.9cm x 84.1cm and it has taken approximately 3 months to complete. The artwork contains more than 1 million hand-typed letters, numbers and punctuation marks and conceals typed street names, coffee shops, local businesses and statistics about NYC. James used 5 typewriter ribbons to create this piece.
This is James' most ambitious project to date and it has been his most requested subject by followers of his work. The artwork continues the ongoing series of aerial perspective landmarks which he began in May 2023.
The artwork is printed on 180gsm acid free white bond cartridge paper. This particular cartridge paper is the closest match to the paper that the artist has used to type the original artwork. This is a limited edition of 400 print, hand-signed by the artist. Accompanying the artwork is a certificate of authenticity and a personal hand-written thank you letter by the artist.
Postage fees are added at checkout. VAT is also added at checkout if the customer is purchasing the print from the United Kingdom.
This artwork will be mailed signed and with tracking information. All drawings are hand-packaged and will be accompanied with a personal hand written message from the artist himself.
Please note that this print is packaged in archival tissue paper and rolled in a heavy duty postal tube. This artwork does not include framing.
Tracking information is provided to the customer. We do not have a return policy unless the artwork has been damaged in transit, then a replacement artwork will be sent. International deliveries might be liable for additional taxes and are at the expense of the customer. We cannot accept cancellations on orders after payment.
